Tier I and Zoological Update
The Tier I Advisory Board Recommendation will (hopefully) be on the August 5, 2008 Council Agenda. The Council organizes and decides on agenda items and I believe this is the date they are considering. Notices for Council meeting agendas are distributed the Friday prior to the Tuesday of their meetings. Therefore, the agenda for August 5th will be posted on the County website the afternoon of Friday, August 1, 2008.
If all goes well and the Council approves the recommendation on August 5th, a notary and contract update meeting will be held on Friday, August 8 @ 9:00 a.m. Please note this date and time on your calendar and ask your PR coordinator to attend. You will be asked to sign the ZAP contract and we will discuss application issues and the updated ZAP Style Guide.
Tier II Update
The Tier II Advisory Board will continue to review applications throughout the summer. A recommendation will be made to the Salt Lake County Council either at the end of August or the beginning of September. A notary event will be scheduled after the Council approves the recommendation, either in September or October. Similar to last year, funds will be available approximately 4 weeks after the contracts are fully executed (probably November and December of 2008 for your first payment).
Prior to the annual grant deadline, a workshop is held to assist all the applicants. Please click on Workshops for the date and time. It is strongly encouraged that all applicants read the guidelines prior to filling out the application form. The form may be downloaded as a word document (.doc) or a pdf file.

Note: Due to the funding not being available until the end of 2008, it is recommended you utilize the funding in 2009. This application covers the period from January 1, 2008 through December 31, 2009. The project or operations you are requesting ZAP funding for needs to take place during a 12-month period within this time frame. List the beginning and ending month and year. |
*Tier I & Zoological organizations must include their audited financial statements with the application form and the excel spreadsheet (template) by the deadline.
